Church Planting

The Rocky Mountain West is one of the most unchurched areas in the country.  Almost nine out of ten residents are not connected with any kind of Christian fellowship.  Consequently, church planting is a high priority in our vision to reach the region for Jesus Christ.

Since launching new congregations is incredibly difficult in our region, we are working hard to develop systems and strategies that will better equip our planters to launch healthy, missional churches. If you are interested in planting a church in the Converge Rocky Mountain here is the typical process you will walk through…

After an initial pre-interview, you and your spouse will attend a TeAmerica assessment center which will help you discover your readiness for church planting.  If you receive the highest recommendation, a second interview will be held to discuss potential planting sites, different methods and models you might want to implement, prayer support, fund raising and other pertinent issues.  If all goes well, the project will move forward.  You will be introduced to an experienced planting coach and linked up with an area LEAD team of pastors.  You will also receive training at a national “First Steps” seminar.

Church planting is incredibly difficult…but it’s also incredibly rewarding.  If God has grabbed your heart with a passion for the unchurched in our region, don’t ignore that call.  Contact Paul Mitton, paul@rmbc.com, and initiate the process of launching a new congregation.
